Rock Chorus is a choir with a difference and was formed in September 2009 by acclaimed singer/songwriter Lauren Field. Lauren runs five Rock Chorus choirs in Berkhamsted, Bushey, Dunstable, Milton Keynes and Pinner and has three new choirs in Rickmansworth, North Finchley, and Aylesbury.
Rock Chorus rehearse once a week in each of the areas and the choirs come together for concerts and charity performances.
In 2011, Rock Chorus appeared at The Tring Festival, The Waterside Festival at Milton Keynes, The Pepper Rock Concert in Berkhamsted, The Grove Theatre in Dunstable and the Woburn Oyster Festival to mention only a few.
Selling out their shows and helping to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, appearing on Sky TV's 'Gadget and Geeks' show, their concerts dates just keep on coming and they are now in demand across all our areas.
Apart from recording and releasing their first single, an Olympic anthem called 'This is Our Time' written by Lauren and produced by Charles Foskett, Rock Chorus have now launched their very own on-line charity benefit concert platform Singit Back
www.singitback.net - Rock Chorus' first Singit Back (15th October 2011) raised over £13,500 for the Macmillan cancer support unit at the Luton and Dunstable hospital.
We welcome new members at any time in the term - simply sign up and be part of it all!
'Singing is one of the strongest glues for encouraging positive community development, and truly is a great way to make new friends'
How it works:
You don't have to audition to be part of Rock Chorus; you don't even have to be an accomplished singer. The most commonly heard worry at the start of term is 'I don't know if I can sing or what I can sing!'
Most people quickly find that their voice strengthens and develops as they rehearse and before long you'll be happily settled in a section of the choir that suits your range.
Belting out great tunes with people who will rapidly become your friends is one of the greatest pleasures of being part of Rock Chorus! You don't even have to read music - All of the songs we rehearse are available for you to download from our website so you can practice at home between rehearsals. Once you sign up we will notify you of the login and password details.
Rock Chorus perform frequently and mainly for charity based events - so being out there giving something back is very important to us!
